Ellen T. (Nairtney) Grimes 82, wife of John F. Grimes ll, died Sunday at Mt St Rita's Health Center formerly of Sneech Pond Rd. Mr. & Mrs. Grimes celebrated their 54 th wedding anniversary last September. Born in New York, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Connelly) Nairtney. Mrs. Grimes worked for the former Blackstone Valley Electric now Natl. Grid as a Bookkeeper for several years retiring in 1955. Surviving besides her husband John are a son John F. Grimes lll three daughters; Mary Ellen Grimes, Ann Marie Grenier and her husband Randy, and Marianne Ezovski and her husband Keith. Seven grandchildren: Brendan, Garrett, Nolan, Sean, Brittany, Blaine and Kalen. One sister Margaret Belliveau of Pawtucket. Mrs. Grimes was the Mother of the late Walter A. Grimes JD, Det.Cpl. James M. Grimes, Paul Grimes and Maureen E. Grimes and sister of the late John Nairtney. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00am in Mt St Rita Chapel 15 Sumner Brown Road to which relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-8pm in the CHEETHAM MORTUARY 1012 Newport Avenue Pawtucket. In Lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to the Det. James Grimes PI Fund, PO Box 7663, Cumberland RI 02864 or the Charity of your choice in Ellen's memory.
