Gertrude L. (Alix) Macedo

Gertrude L. (Alix) Macedo, 91 formerly of Edgemere Rd. died Monday at Steer House, Providence. She was the wife of the late Frank A. Macedo, Sr.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Albert N. and Gertrude R. (St. Louis) Alix she lived in the City until her illness.

She was a member of the St. Teresa Mother's Club for over 20 years and was a “Devoted” daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, who was an avid reader and loved to dance.

She is survived by two sons, Frank A. Macedo, Jr. of Pawtucket and Gregory E. Macedo and his fiancé, Kristina of South Kingstown, one daughter Patricia A. Labelle and her husband Marc of Pawtucket, one sister Charlotte C. Ethier of Lincoln, three grandsons, Richard 2 nd , Barry, and Christopher, four granddaughters, Cindy, Nikki, Teisha and Kasey, six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, and a daughter-in-law Deborah. Gertrude was the mother of the late Richard A. Macedo and the sister of the late Joseph A. Alix, Alfred W. Alix and Blanche M. Valentine.

A funeral will be held on Thursday at 10AM from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY INC., 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave, Pawtucket. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 9AM to 10AM at the funeral home.
