Beatrice (Warburton) Yarborough formerly of Mt. Vernon Boulevard died peacefully Wednesday at Chestnut Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, East Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Herbert E. Yarborough, Sr. to whom she had been married 50 years. She died ten days shy of her 94 th birthday. She was born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late William and Alice (Scawthorn) Warburton and had lived in Pawtucket until entering the Nursing Center.
She was employed as a sewer at Standard Romper, later Healthtex and also at New England Linen Supply where she worked for over 12 years retiring in 1977. She was a volunteer at the Memorial Hospital in the craft department and as a knitter for the Operation Warm Heads at Women & Infants Hospital. Mrs. Yarborough was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church for sixty years until it merged with the Church of the Epiphany where she was a Communicant. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and boating.
She leaves a daughter, Beverly A. and her husband Ernest Fairhurst of Pawtucket, a son Herbert E., Jr. and his wife Linda Yarborough of Coventry, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews.
A funeral will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the CHEETHAM MORTUARY, INC., 1012 Newport Ave., Pawtucket with a Rite of Christian Burial to follow at 3:00 PM in The Church of the Epiphany, 1336 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford. Burial will be in Seekonk Cemetery.
